Why there are different types of adhesives?

What is DTF adhesive powder?

DTFPRO's hot melt adhesives are designed for printing on DTF (direct to film) which is a new technology for heat transfer. You can use a DTF printer to freely print the designed image on the coated DTF PET film or DTF Paper, then cover it by adhesive powder, and then transfer it to various fabric by heat transfer machine or electric iron.

Adhesive powders are categorised according to their particle size. So what is the difference between their intended use?

FINE
The finest adhesive powder has a particle size of 0-80 micrometres. It is the optimum choice when the adhesive layer needs to be particularly thin. It is suitable for use on materials such as nylon, lycra and leather.

MEDIUM
Medium is a multi-purpose general purpose adhesive. It is suitable for most transfer patterns and works well with cotton, polyester and blended materials. The grain size of medium glue powder ranges from 80-200 micrometres.

COARSE
For thicker, coarse materials (e.g. canvas, denim, linen) this adhesive powder is optimal. The adhesive layer becomes thicker and sticks more firmly to rough materials.
